The evolution of Blackjack

Blackjack One of the most played casino games, may be a product of Spain or India. In either place, you can trace its history back to more than two thousand years ago. In the present, some researchers are even saying that the origin of blackjack could be from ancient Chinese gambling.

Although historians might not pinpoint the place where it originated the only thing that's common is that it was invented in France. There's also a notion that Blackjack was invented by the old Romans. While this is a bit plausible, it's not supported by any proof. It is believed that Romans used to play blackjack with wooden blocks that had various numbers, rather than paper cards.

A different possibility is that it was created in the Bahamas or by the help of Spanish. According to these accounts, the origin of the term "blackjack" is linked to gambling. A report states that Spaniards had the idea of introducing a four-year bonus pay out for the winning player basically, the chance to win another card if you had lost the original card. In time, the name came to include "black" as an abbreviation to indicate the metal playing cards.

All of this being said, Blackjack is clearly a European invention. Prior to the advent of games that were played on video, such as Blackjack and Video Poker, the only method to play the game was in real Casinos. The first Blackjack counters were from Spain. This is the reason why there are signs that read "Blackjack in Spain" in actual casinos. It's interesting to consider that Spain was home to a number of important Blackjack economies before and even after electronic blackjack. Spain could have been the source of inspiration for some of the first players.

But, Americans aren't aware that the game was first popularized in America by Spain. What Americans do know is that the game originated in the Spaniards and that there were several similarities in the rules of the day blackjack. Blackjack was initially played with ten, seven and five cards, five three, and three blocks of wood. The setup was boring to most Americans However, Europeans were amazed by how quickly the wooden blocks were dealt and how quickly winning blackjack cards were placed in pockets.

Casinos today use random selection to choose their players. That means the cards are randomly selected from the hat (since we aren't able to choose them by ourselves). The first blackjack counter would have chosen the cards simply by flipping the coin. It would have been much simpler than the present random selection method.

While we aren't sure of the date exactly, it's widely known that online blackjack became popular in Europe during the late nineteen hundred. It is easy to see the reasons. Europe is a much larger continent with more casinos than today. This meant that a greater number of card counters tried to make money from a game which wasn't as well-known as the one they played. As a result, online casinos began springing up in response.

The computer has taken over the role of the "dealer". A player doesn't need to flip a coin or choose an option. He simply glances at the computer's screen to choose which card combination to play. Because the dealer cannot discern if the players are lying or not, there is always a possibility that some players have already rejected the possibility of a combination. This is unlikely since there aren't any physical cards involved. Online card counters are always at work trying to determine the most appropriate times for players to make calls or take them off the table.
